Barrie started his business in 1996, transforming a former butcher’s shop in Anstey into a high-class boutique salon – always with the vision of creating a sophisticated and stylish set-up to rival the services found in London. Barrie’s skills were so highly sought after, that he had to take on more employees and expand the salon to accommodate the increase in demand.
King Street salon followed five years later, and in 2006 a third salon was opened in Narborough as a concession in the now David Lloyd Health Club. Ashby de la Zouch became the home of the fourth and largest Barrie Stephen Salon in 2009. Now, 25 years later, the salon group is widely recognised, with happy, loyal clients, a multitude of award wins and a strong media profile.
