Animal Aid Fundraiser
Animal Aid receives £2,200 donation from Barrie Stephen Hair
Leicester Animal Aid received a wonderful early Christmas present this week from our Winter Warmer fundraiser.
70 team, friends and clients gathered at The Pear Tree restaurant in Woodhouse Eaves for a festive evening, all with the goal of helping the charity rescue and rehome the 400 dogs and cats that they receive through their doors each year.
£2,200.84 was raised with happy guests going home with a whole variety of raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
“It was a real party atmosphere,” Barrie Stephen said, “meeting the needs of those in our community is a big priority for me, and I love how we’re contributing to helping another organisation. We are happy to step in and partner with Leicester Animal Aid to see their plans succeed and to get behind their drive of providing care for beautiful animals.”
With a Christmas jumper dress code, there were lots of festive outfits, mulled wine and a big roaring fire, and even two reindeer turned up in their own Christmassy attire making it a truly authentic occasion. Lee Martin was the singer on the night, but our very own Scott from the King Street salon also gave us a treat too, taking to the stage to perform some songs – and he’s a pro – he made Will.i.am’s team on The Voice two years ago!
“Thank you so much to everyone who came, and who generously gave,” Barrie said. “We were bowled over by the willingness of companies who partnered with our fundraiser vision. It’s amazing to be part of a community of businesses who support each other. Thanks to them all for the fantastic array of prizes.
“It was great to celebrate with the Barrie Stephen family and know it was all going towards a very valuable city project. We wish Animal Aid all the best and hope this gift is the perfect stocking filler to ready them for the coming season.”
