Rainbows gets a stash as Barrie Stephen helps raise cash
Barrie Stephen has helped raise cash for a local charity, by helping add glamour to a fashion show in aid of Rainbows Children’s Hospice.
Barrie Stephen stylists were chosen to take part in the House of Fraser fashion show event, where they designed and created hairstyles for fourteen catwalk models showcasing collections based around romance, safari and tribal themes. The event, held on the House of Fraser lower ladieswear floor of the Shires, was a great success. Guests were treated to a colourful fashion show, live singers, dancers, face painting, henna tattooing, cocktail drinks, as well as a cheese, wine and biscuit buffet, a Thorntons chocolate fountain and the chance to preview new collections from Therapy, Linea and Kenneth Cole designers. Rainbows also gave a presentation about the charity so guests could learn more about what the organisation was all about.
Barrie Stephen was proud to be involved in the fundraising event.
“It was a great evening; and we all had a very enjoyable time working together. The catwalk show was a good opportunity to try out new ideas, get expressive in hair design and develop styles we wouldn’t necessarily recreate in the salon. So the fashion show was good for us as well as very successful in contributing to the Rainbows’ fundraising goal.
“In business I’ve always been outward looking – expanding through investing in people, personal development programmes and professional and technical training and I see great results from this way of working. To be able to give our time to help Rainbows, and the people they help was fantastic. What the hospice does is essential to the local community and it deserves to be supported and backed by businesses all over Leicester.”
