Barrie Stephen sets sights on Eastern Hairdresser of the Year 2008
Two top Barrie Stephen stylists will be entering the prestigious annual British Hairdressing Awards this year. The national competition rewards the best UK hairdressers who have pushed the boundaries of innovative hairdressing, excelling in creative styling and setting new trends.
Barrie Stephen is confident about his entry to the awards this year after he directed a successful photoshoot in London recently. He is however, keeping his final entry top secret. He has previously been a nominee for the title of Eastern Hairdresser of the Year, but this year hopes to pick up the coveted title of Eastern Hairdresser of the Year. He is joined in the competition by Anstey Senior Consultant Neil Smith.
“It’s great to be joined by Neil this year,” Barrie says. “I’ve seen his ideas and hairdressing skills increase year on year, and for him to reach such a high level of creative styling is fantastic for him and the salon.
We always aim to give our stylists the best training and Neil’s a great example of someone who has excelled in his career with the help of our in-house development programme.”
The hairdressing industry’s own ‘Oscars’ was set up in 1985, and has since become the most glamourous and distinguished event in the hairdressing calendar. Nominations for the regional categories will be announced in the summer, and hairdressing accolades will be handed out in November at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
