About Barrie Stephen

Barrie Stephen team party

Barrie Stephen put on a motivating and inspiring day for the 60 team members from the three salons.

Everyone arrived at the Marriott Hotel in Leicester to the beat of African drums. Not your average start to a Monday morning, but the Drum Café group were there to get the team working together to create awesome rhythms.

The enthusiasm continued with an inspiring presentation on customer service from former director of customer service at British Airways, John Seaman. John presented how the team only need “A SMILE” to provide amazing customer service.

Simon Slater, renowned actor, had the team in stitches using willing (and unwilling!) audience members to show that it’s not what you do but the way you do it! Comparing hairdressing to acting, Simon illustrated how stylists are constantly presenting themselves, engaging with their audience and how everything they do and say is interpreted.

Barrie is an avid believer in his team’s overall well-being, for this reason he invited Debbie Digby to present her Equilibrium Reservoirs. Debbie’s emotive presentation on physical, spiritual, intellectual and emotional reservoirs encouraged the team to consider their work/life balances.

Then it was down to the very serious business of presenting the team awards. Nick Stapells (Schwarzkopf’s Business Manager) was on hand to present the nine awards. Each winner received a striking orange trophy and their 15 minutes of fame with winners posters in all the salons!

A special mention must go to Tia Coltman who was named Kerastase Ambassador of the year and presented with a beautiful Tiffany crystal vase.

Once all the presentations were over the team received their latest copy of The Cut magazine and were ushered out to the private bar for drinks!

Now that is the way to start 2008 in style!
